What is Building Automation System?

It is an energy management system
that consists of computerized,
interlinked networks of hardware and
software which monitor and control
the mechanical and lighting systems
in commercial, industrial, and
institutional facilities.

Building Automation System

Significance of the
Study

The study proposes the

implementation of
automated building
facilities of DICT for
energy management,
safety, convenience and to
introduce different
application of automation.

Control of facilities can be

programmed to further
enhance efficiency of the
building through the
compiled data produced
as part of the function of
the installed SCADA
system.

Building Automation System

Objective

To install a
representation of
Access Cards

To design a specific
miniature rooms of RTUDICT

To create not only a

demo miniature, but
also a trainer of specific
components

To produce an excel file

regarding the total
power consumption.

To design and install all

the components of the
building automation
system in the miniature

To construct a
representation of actual

Programmable Logic Controller
more or less a small computer with a built-in
operating system (OS). This OS is highly
specialized to handle incoming events in real
time. A program is written for the PLC which
turns on and off outputs based on input
conditions and the internal program.

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition
an industrial control system at the core of
many modern industries such as
manufacturing, energy, water, power,
transportation and many more. SCADA
systems deploy multiple technologies that
allow organizations to monitor, gather, and
process data as well as send commands to
those points that are transmitting data.

Passive Infrared
often used in motion detectors. Motion is
detected when an infrared source with one
temperature, such as a human, passes in front
of an infrared source with another
temperature, such as a wall.
