E-Commerce
PlanetM and sd2 Labs partnered to launch their
E-commerce platform, which was an entirely
new domain for them. We worked with them
from the nascent stages of the project untill the
launch in February 2014. Our design team not
only ensured that the website is easy to use, one
of the first designed for touch, but also kept the
brand identity intact.

Phase 1: Pre Development Requirement Gathering & Project Planning
Discussions on product functionality and design with the customer using the experience and
insight of the sd2labs team. This phase also includes agreeing to broad level plan for landmark in
the project.
Our team writes detailed user stories to map all the possible scenarios against all functionalities.
This helps both the development team and the client to have a better understanding about the
proposed application. This exercise leads to Sprint planning with creation of project milestones.
This also includes the design team to come up with mood boards for discussion on new design and
brand strategy. In mood a board, the team creates a high level wireframe and design which is
detailed enough to capture the preferred fonts, colours, inspirations etc. from the client.

Phase 2: Alpha Build UI and System Design, Iterative development & UAT
This phase has various milestones that are defined at the onset. The broad deliverables for this
phase are:
a) Mocks for functionality prototypes for both mobile and web using interactive
wireframes/visual design
b) Creation of Testing and Production environments
c) MVP or Alpha build contains

Phase 3: Beta Build Production Launch
This phase covers multiple production launches and looks at compiling user feedback and internal
learning. The desired changes are implemented in the application during this phase. Broadly, the
steps are:
Build per Sprint with release document specifying the implemented functionalities
New requirement based on feedback and observations
Any required UI fixes
Iterations/ Changes
Creation of Infrastructure complete with Load Balancing and supportive infra requirement
Phase 4: Production Build Warranty and Support Systems & Feedback from Beta
This phase looks at implementing all the feedback received from Beta Testing and includes change
in infrastructure set up based on application/ server analytics to provide the best and the fastest
application. The credentials required by client to use and manage the application are provided with
a complete knowledge transfer to ensure optimised usage of the application.

A user story is a very high-level definition of a requirement, containing just enough information
so that the developers can produce a reasonable estimate of the effort to implement it.
It's a fantastic way of making sure the product management, product design, engineering and QA
teams were all in sync!
The who/why parts are just as important as the when/what makes sure that were building with
a real user/use-case in mind.

Scenario - These are the user stories for a relatively simple epic (Find Friends) (an Epic is a big user
story)
FIND FRIENDS on SYSTEMX
User finds existing Facebook friends who already using SystemX.
As a user who also has a Facebook account, I want to find my Facebook friends that also have a SystemX account so that I can quickly follow them.
When I select the Find Friends / Facebook option, then I can browse a list of my Facebook friends that also have a SystemX account; I can follow (or unfollow) any of the people
on the list by pressing the "Follow" (or "Following") button against their name; I *cannot* tap on the avatar or name of a person on the list to see their profile.
User finds existing Twitter friends who already using SystemX.
As a user who also has a Twitter account, I want to find my Twitter friends that also have a SystemX account so that I can quickly follow them.

User invites someone to join SystemX via email.
As a user who wants to invite their friends to join SystemX, I want to send them an email invitation so that they will download the app and sign-up.

When I select the Find Friends / Address Book option then an email message (with pre-written content) is displayed, allowing me to add the addresses and even amend the
email subject/content information.
