ADDICTION
Problem Statement
Anyone living in a hard water area know the problems of hard water consumption. It is
a perfectly natural phenomenon. It contains a high percentage of minerals which are
present as salts in solution. They are mainly Calcium and Magnesium based, and they
are essential to plant and animal life.
Unfortunately, they also cause problems. The main culprit is Calcium Carbonate which
is salt responsible for hardness. It is equally responsible for the formation of limescale,
because of its rare property of dissolving in cold water and precipitating in hot water
The quality of drinking water in rural areas is poor. It is estimated that around 37.7
million Indians are affected by waterborne diseases annually, 1.5 million children are
estimated to die of
diarrhoea alone and 73 million working days are lost due to waterborne disease each
year. The
resulting economic burden is estimated at $600 million a year.
Problem Statement
Possible skin infections from bacteria trapped in pores under soap scum.
Can cause Eczema in Children
Can cause diseases like Diarrhea , Cholera, Malaria, Japanese encephalitis.
Scaling of pipesand associated equipment.
Spotting on dishes, shower doors, cars, motorbikes.
Soap scum in sinks and bathtubs.
Scum rings in bath tubs, swimming pools and spas.
Reduced foamingand cleaning abilities of soaps and detergents.
Dingy and yellowedlaundry with soapy residuesthat require extra rinsing.
Increased water heating costs from a build-up of minerals on heating elements in hot water
systems, dishwashers, kettles reducing their efficiencies.
Saltbuild up in soils.
Premature failure of O-rings and box seals in jumbodrilling rigs and other mining equipment.
Reduction in problems with high pH water causing blue stains on kitchen, laundry & bathroom
fixtures (Blue Water Syndrome).
Chalky white powder (calcium) build-up on swimming pool walls.
Salt build-up on salt water chlorinators.
Iron inirrigation water for nurseriesand irrigation.
Iron indrinking water systems.
Product Description
Our product Apam Napat is a two stage water purifier.
Hard/Impure water
Magnetic water
treatment
RO water
treatment
Pure water
Product Description
Magnetic water treatment is a method of reducing
the effects ofhard waterby passing it through
amagnetic field, as a non-chemical alternative
towater softening.
They work by reversing the polarity of the
limescale particles as they pass through a
cylindrical magnetic field. Apparently as the
miniscule particles of calcium (limescale) bounce
their way through the mains pipe they pick up a
slight positive charge causing them to stick to
metal parts in our appliances that are electrically
negative. By passing them through the magnetic
field the calcium particles become negative and
will not stick to other negatives, i.e. metal parts,
hence softening the water
Product can be permanently installed in plumbing
system to alter calcium ions so they cannot cause
Product Description
Reverse Osmosis works by using a high pressure
pump to increase the pressure on the salt side of
the RO and force the water across the semipermeable RO membrane, leaving almost all
(around 95% to 99%) of dissolved salts behind in
the reject stream. The amount of pressure required
depends on the salt concentration of the feed
water. The more concentrated the feed water, the
more pressure is required to overcome the osmotic
pressure.
Reverse Osmosis is capable of removing up to 99%
+ of the dissolved salts (ions), particles, colloids,
organics, bacteria and pyrogens from the feed
water
Cost of the product : 6500-7000 INR
Scope in India
Target Audience
Urban areas where borewell water is still a source of water supply
Domestic Plumbing systems, both Urban and semi urban.
Farmer and agriculture related businesses which involves irrigation systems
Rural areas where water available isnt suitable for drinking
As suggested in previous slide, the regions where hard water is STILL A MAJOR ISSUE.
Other B2B markets, such as mining, healthcare and clothing industries where soft water is required
to carry out processes.
