OBJECTIVES
 To purchase raw material in bulk and supply it among
members.
 To purchase for common use or to let-out on hire or
lease improved tools and equipments to the members.
 to arrange for the sale of finished product to the best
advantage of the members.
 To provide technical assistance to members in
producing goods of improved and attractive designs.
 To provide common service such as dyeing printing,
polishing and bleaching.
 To encourage self help, thrift and mutual aid among the
members.
 To act as agent for the joint purchase of domestic
requirement of its members.
 To organize all industry in the state on a sound
commercial basis and to market the industrial co-
operatives product in and out side of the state.
 To raise necessary resources by issue of shares and by
making borrowing from financial institution or others.
 To grand advance to affiliated societies.
 To establish and run sales deposits within as well as
out side the state for exhibition and sale of products
purchased and procured from primary societies.
 To provide research, developments and training
facilities.
 It provide employment opportunities.
 Skilled workers are saved from the exploitation of
capitalist industrialists.
 Promotion of small scale and cottage industries.
 To increase production by avoiding strikes and

lockouts.
 To establish labour participation in management.

 Starting industries in backward regions.

 Uplift the weaker sections of the society by

CONCLUSION
Village and small scale industries play a
significant role in our national economy. They provide
independent as well as subsidiary occupations to a sizable
proportion of our rural and urban population. An industrial
co-operatives is an undertaking of crafts man or skilled
workers engaged in the cottage and small scale industrial
production. Purchase of raw materials, marketing of
products and supplying other service of the members. In
Kerala the major industrial co-operatives are handloom
weavers societies, coir co operatives ,handicraft societies,
beedi workers societies, Cashew workers societies and
khadi and village industrial societies.
