1961 - In May, the Geneva-based

International Committee of Red Cross


bestowed the Florence Nightingale Medal and
Diploma to Julita Sotejo, a Filipino nurse

and learn- but it did not make me a better
nurse. But it gave me prestige, it taught
me to think, it gave me self-confidence, it
taught me to argue for nursing.

express her views since she is sure
whereof she stands - perceptive, creative
