Emotion is considered as a factor in
hiring employees.
People with higher EI are performing
better than people with lower
Emotional intelligence.
EX: In army if people meet all physical
criteria and fail to meet emotional
standards they are not selected for

DECISION MAKING
Moods and emotions have important effects
on decision making.
People in good moods or experiencing positive
emotions likely to make good decisions
quickly also enhance problem solving skills
and find better solutions to problems.
EX:If a person is in good mood he can easily
make good decisions.

CREATIVITY
People in good moods tend to be more
creative than people in bad moods.
EX: supervisor giving positive feedback to
his employees will make them more
creative.
Some researchers feel that positive moods
doesnot engage in creativity.
Active moods , whether positive or
negative,seem to lead to more creative

MOTIVATION
Giving people performance feedbackwhether real or fake-influenced their
mood , which then influenced their
motivation.
EX: Positive feedback to an employee
will make him be in a good mood which
in turn motivates him to do the work.

LEADERSHIP
Effective leaders rely on
emotional appeals to help
convey their messages.
EX:If a leader is more more
enthusiastic, and active,they
may be more likely to

NEGOTIATION
When a negotiator shows anger , the
opponent concludes the negotiator has
conceded all she can and so gives in.
Anger lead to significantly worst outcomes.
A negotiator shouldnot develop a negative
emotion from an poorly done negotiation
experience . Due to this they will not be
cooperative in future negotiations.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
A workers emotional state influences customer
service.
There is a matching effect between employee and
customer emotions called emotional contagion.
EX: If someone smiles at you, even we tend to
respond positively.
EX:If an employer shows positive emotion towards
the customer than only he will wish to come
again.

JOB ATTITUDES
Never take your work home with you
If people stressful day at work also
have trouble relaxing after they get off
work.
EX: If youve had a bad day ay
work,your spouse is likely to have an
unpleasant evening.

DEVIANT BEHAVIOURS AT
WORK

Anyone who have spent alot in one


organization can find these behaviors.
People who feel negative emotions like
anger are more likely to engage in
deviant behaviours of work.
EX: Jealousy of an employee on other
employee who is at a better position.
