event characteristics
1. How much of IEC 61000-4-30 do we include ?
proposal: include the whole document as far as
voltage dips are concerned
2. How much do we add to IEC 61000-4-30 ?
proposal: define all the additional characteristics
that are mentioned in the appendix to the
IEC document. Describe phase-angle jump
in more detail
3. Additional methods for three-phase measurements ?
proposal: introduce three-phase measurements as a
special case of multi-phase measurements.
4. Overlap with (scope of) IEEE 1159 ?
proposal: add to IEEE 1564 what we need even if it
falls under the 1159 scope. Remove from 1564
when the 1159-document later includes it.

1. How much of IEC 61000-4-30 do we include ?
proposal: include all of IEC 61000-4-30
2. Pre-event or nominal voltage as a reference ?
proposal: use nominal voltage as default but
mention pre-event as an option.
3. Additional indices (i.e. next to remaining voltage
and duration) ?
proposal: co-ordinate with Chapter 6
4. Alternative indices ?
proposal: define a number of single-index methods
as an alternative (guide versus recommended
practice)

site indices
1. Do we use SARFI, Unipede table or
voltage-sag contour chart as a basis ?
proposal: describe all three methods for the first
version of the document, give advantages
and disadvantages plus methods for
translating from one method to another.
2. Aggregation methods ?
proposal: define the aggregation methods very
clearly, leave open the choice of
time aggregation window, etc.

1. Choice of sites and choice of weighting factors ?
proposal: needs further discussion and possibly
further research

General issues
1. recommended practice, guide or informative ?
proposal: IEC 61000-4-30 is recommended practice
some of the other sections as well. Other
parts are guide and some are only
informative.
Each chapter selects normative and
informative parts.
2. Definitions ?
proposal: use IEC 61000-4-30 definitions plus
existing IEEE definitions as a basis. Each
chapter selects terms to be defined.
3. How wide do we go with this document ?
proposal: one main line (IEC + SARFI ?) with
a number of additional indices and
alternatives.
