June 14, 1950 DZBB was established
 by Robert "Uncle Bob"
La Rue Stewart in a
small office space in
Calvo Building,
Escolta, Manila with
mostly second-hand
equipment and an old
and surplus
radio transmitter.
dzBB introduces
political satire on the
program Kuwentong
 1951  DZBB airs the first live radio
coverage of the Senate and
 Congressional sessions
featuring on-the-spot
 telephone interviews for the
 first time.
 DZBB became the first radio
 station in the country to use
the telephone patch for live
 interviews
 

 1957  DZBB was also the first to air


live coverages extended not
 just to news and public
affairs, but also to
 entertainment and
educational programs.

 DZBB moved to the new home
at EDSA, Quezon City.
 

October 29, 1961 Due to the success of


DZBB, Bob Stewart
ventured to television.
DZBB-TV Channel 7
(Now known today
as GMA-7 Manila)
Started operations with
just 25 employees
(other stations had
200), a surplus
transmitter and two
old cameras
The station was
always in the red
Stewart was about
to give up when the
program "Dancetime
with Chito" became
a big hit and
advertising revenues
rolled in.
Canned programs
from the US further
sustained its
success
1972 President Marcos
 declared Martial Law
 in the Philippines
and the station was

forced to shut down
1974 the station went back
on-air

DZBB came out
with "Kape at Balita",

 Barangay LS
 April 2008  commercial of Barangay LS
was featured on TV
  Barangay LS added a
 2009 Visayan word in the slogan
"Ayos!" to engage people
in Visayas to listen to
them. Now, their new
slogan is "Ayos Gyud!"
means "Ayos Talaga!".

How does the signal is
transmitted?
qThe reporters used this device called Audio
Console, where it adjust the timbre of the
signal conveyed by the speaker.

qThen it will enter the Audio Processor where it


adjust the over-all loudness to the desired
level.

qThen it will be conveyed to the STL Transmitter


and this device is the one used to transfer the
signal from one location to another (e.g.
EDSA – Bulacan)
qThen STL Receiver will be receive the signal
thrown from the first location.

qAnd again, it will be processed in an Audio


Processor so that the signal will be clear and
will be adjust to its desired level

qThen the AM Transmitter will transmit the


signal to its primary coverage area.
