Elliptical Structure
Elliptical or Ellipsis is the omission of
words or a word from a sentence that
is intended to make sentences
become shorter and better
arrangement. These are intended to
abbreviate the phrase and embellish
but do not change the wording and
meaning of meaning at all.

If in a positive sentence we find the
same predicate, then we should use

"well"

(= He is busy andI am too)
(= He is busy andso am I)
My brother can swim well. You can swim well

Negative Elliptic
When in a negative sentence we find
the same predicate, then we should
use the word "either" or "Neither"
which means "not well"
Example

(= Ed doesn't like mango andGeorge doesn't
either)
(= Ed doesn't like mango andneither does George)
My father won't come there. I won't come there.
(= My father won't come there andI won't either)
(= My father won't come there andneither will I)
She never comes here. He never comes here.
(= She never comes here andhe doesn't either)
(= She never comes here andneither does he)
Contrary Elliptic
If the two sentences to be combined
is positive and one is negative then
we use the "but"
Example

(= Stephanie is cleverbut her sister isn't)
She does not have a pen. I have a pen.
(= She does not have a penbut I do)
