terms and control systems. It also explain
the principles and operation of all the ships
machinery, type of main machinery and
auxiliary machineries. It enable students to
develops knowledge on how all the
systems work which covered the topics
such as marine power plant, boiler,
propulsion system, fresh water generator,
steering gear, pumps system, refrigeration,
marine
sewage,
incinerator,
deck
machineries and etc.

Course Objective
To give understanding on the working
principles, construction and operation of
all the machinery items in a ship
To provide learners with the knowledge
and understanding of the marine
engineering and control systems
To ensure better shipboard operational
efficiency carried out
To Instruct about the need for correct and
safe operating procedures

Course Learning Outcome

At the end of this course, the students should
be able to:LO1:Use engineering terms and describe
the concepts of control systems
LO2:Apply the operating principles of marine
power plant
LO3:Apply the safe operating procedures on
board ship
LO4:Identify the function and operation of a
vessels auxiliary machinery
