an act or a series of acts involving any


unwelcome sexual advance, request or
demand for a sexual favor, or other verbal or
physical behavior of a sexual nature,
committed by a government employee or
official in a work-related, training- or
education- related environment.

written notes with sexual underpinnings

TYPES OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT


(BUSINESS ASPECT)

Quid Pro Quo

is when employment and/or employment


decisions for an employee are based on that
employees acceptance or rejection of
unwelcome sexual behavior

Hostile work environment

is a work environment created by unwelcome sexual


behavior or behavior directed at an employee
because of that employee's sex that is offensive,
hostile and/or intimidating and that adversely affects
that employees ability to do his or her job.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT MAY TAKE


PLACE:

in the premises of the workplace or office or of the school or


training institution

in any place where the parties were found, as a result of work


or education or training responsibilities or relation

at work or education- or training-related social functions; while


on official business outside the office or school or training
institution or during work or school or training-related travel

at official conferences, fora, symposia or training sessions

by telephone, cellular phone, fax machine or electronic mail.

EXAMPLES OF SEXUAL
HARASSMENT

Unwanted sexual statements:Sexual or dirty


jokes, comments on physical attributes, spreading
rumors about or rating others as to sexual activity or
performance, talking about ones sexual activity in
front of others and displaying or distributing sexually
explicit drawings, pictures and/or written material.
Unwanted sexual statements can be made in person,
in writing, electronically (email, instant messaging,
blogs, web pages, etc.) and otherwise.

Unwanted physical or sexual


advances:Touching, hugging, kissing,
fondling, touching oneself sexually for others
to view, sexual assault, intercourse or other
sexual activity.

Unwanted personal attention:Letters,


telephone calls, visits, pressure for sexual
favors, pressure for unnecessary personal
interaction and pressure for dates where a
sexual/romantic intent appears evident but
remains unwanted.
