INTRODUCTION
Logistics operations has always played an integral role in the delivering of
goods
If delivery services are being delayed and latest technology in logistic services
is not adopted it may lead to disreputableness for the company
For timely delivery of goods transportation facility should be improved to meet
the standards and new technologies should be put into practice
Bluedart delivery services are experiencing delays in their delivery and non
adoption of mobile technology for tracking delivery of goods is costing them
dearly
The research is carried out to reduce the delays due to transportation and
engineer the adoption of mobile technology for tracking delivery of goods

Study background
Bluedart performs its operations through supply chain which consists of a
series of activities to move through on their journey from initial suppliers to
final customers
According to (Logility voyager solutions, 2015) studies show that a
best transport system can drive powerful results and increase perfect
orders.
According to Wiegmans (2010) logistics can be performed through various
modes of transport such as road, rail or air transport
It is seen that proper transportation has been the key to timely delivery of
goods and implementation of technology boosts delivery services
According to Walter et al. (2011), improvement of logistic services is
needed for timely delivery of goods
The Indian base of Blue Dart is known to be facing problems with

Study background
It is estimated that while outsourced logistics accounts for 54% of total
logistics spending in India, organized players have only 10% of the pie
(DHL logistics, 2015)
Also mobile technology for tracking goods is required for improved delivery
times, accuracy of tracking and for ensuring proper delivery of goods (m3,
2015)
Mobile technology will help by keeping the customers informed of the
location of goods and also can help BlueDart management to keep track of
their goods delivery easily
So it is clear that optimizing transport facilities and acquiring mobile
technology for tracking goods will bring a lot of positive changes in
BlueDart.

Study area
This paper attempts to provide a relation between improved transportation facility with
mobile technology and delays due to lack of proper transportation and technology
The research is done about the upgradation of transport facility in BlueDart and
impact of mobile technology in the logistics sector of BlueDart
The research can assist the employees working in BlueDart to get good customer
responses for timely delivery and easily track the shipments
The research targets employees working in BlueDart to give them awareness for
optimizing logistics transportation and provide them with the knowledge of mobile
technology for faster delievery responses
The research is intended to provide fruitful knowledge to customers about mobile
technology to easily track their shipments.

Aim
The aim of this study is to focus a sample area for study and
understand the issues to find out major contributors in the
problem, and suggest effective solutions to eliminate these
factors for optimizing Blue Darts courier delivery services in
aspects of transportation related delays.

Research Question
How a combination of mobile technology implementations for
mobile workers, and process re-engineering efforts can elevate
operations to the next level?
How a lack of adoption can hold Blue dart delivery operations back,
preventing them from capitalizing on significant cost-savings?
How implementing mobile technology can improve accuracy and
drive improved customer satisfaction?

Objectives
To acquire new technology together with improved
transportation for faster and safer delivery because
delays and non-acquisition of new technology would
lead to customer complaints and bring disreputableness
to the company
To train the employees with new technology and
change their way of operations of delivering goods
because sticking to old technology will bring about
losses for BlueDart in its services
To get positive responses from customers and drive
good reputation as for holding onto old customers and
attracting new customers all round development in

Research Methodology
The research is an objective research because it is neither the opinion nor
belief of the researcher. The effectiveness of upgrading vehicles for faster
delivery and mobile technology implementation for tracking goods has
proven to bring positive changes in other logistic companies
The research tends to be a quantitative research. The research is deeply
focusing on management of logistics service and also deals with
employees of Bluedart and responses from customers. Therefore the data
has to collected with responses from BlueDart employees and customers
using Bluedart services

Research Methodology
The research philosophy is positivism. This research attempted
to find out the best communication management resolution for
the projects. The research topic is neither socially constructed
nor given meaning by people. The research based on the most
workable philosophy of science.
The deductive research approach is utilized to meet set
objectives. The research analysis is begun with thinking up a
theory about the topic of interest and then narrow downed into
more specific hypotheses that can test. The research is narrow
downed even further when the researcher collected ground
data from focus group to address the hypotheses

Data Collection Method

There are two types of data collection method for the
research, primary and secondary.
In primary data collection method, researchers collect
data from the industry, using surveys, interview and
direct observation.
Secondary data collection is based on the information
collected by other researchers in previous time.
Primary data collection method is chosen for this
research.
(The secondary data sources may have incomplete
information for this topic and could not exactly fit with

Data Collection Method

All the questions in questionnaires form are provided to get enough data
to prove and fulfill the research objectives.
The questions are structured in multiple choice manner so as to complete
the surveys in as less time as possible.
To prove the ground of the research work, questionnaires are given to
BlueDart employees as well as the customers who are using BlueDart
services.

Data Analysis
After having conducted a literature review and primary research
(in the form of questionnaires and a survey), it has become clear
that there was always a delay in delievery of goods due to lack of
transportation upgradation and non acquisition of mobile
technology for tracking goods.
In order to build reputation and to hold onto old customers
BlueDart must adopt latest technology used by other logistics
industries and optimize their logistic facilities.
Also customer complains increases a lot if timely delievery are not
made and surveys show that it is due to breakdown of delivery
vehicle which occurs due to low maintainence
