A system of land used in which harvestable trees


or shrubs are grown among or around crops or on
pasturelands as means of preserving or enhancing
the productivity of the Land.

Was introduce in Pakistan by Dr. GM Khattak
and Mr. K.M Siddiqui in the early 80's
Besides agriculture and livestock, the trees
are also the best solution to combat this lack
of natural resources and income generation.

It is used as a fuel wood, as a timber. Its fruit is


used to extract oil and also used as a dry fruit in
winters.

The leaves and bark have been used
medicinally. It is also used as a timber and
for indoor furniture.

(Salix tetrasperma)

The leaves and bark of the willow tree have


beenused in medicines. Willow wood is also used in
the manufacture ofboxes, cricket bat and indoor
furnitures.
