RESULTS
From the above results contain industrial waste rubber is below the
quality standard MOE Regulation No. 5 of 2014 on Wastewater Quality
Standard. The substance or substances in liquid waste rubber industry
excess can be toxic for the environment and for human ecosystem, the
waste generated from industrial processing to produce the kinds of toxic
substances that are harmful. Rubber processing industry is an industry that
processes latex (sap) rubber into semi-finished rubber, rubber forms may
be either sit, crepe and crumb rubber. With the method of sewage
treatment, waste products from an industry can be treated before being
discharged into the environment so as to reduce environmental pollution
that could damage the ecosystem.

Effects of materials or substances in liquid waste rubber for the
ecosystem

pH

The low pH can cause a high level of corrosion on the water of the river so as to cause
the crust to iron and have a negative impact on the ecosystem.

TS

BOD
COD

NH3

High levels of TSS can affect the silting up of the river, and a source of
toxicology turbidity in the water.

Causes of death in aquatic biota and the state of the water body can become
anaerobic can cause a foul odor.

Excessive COD value will result in dissolved oxygen content in the water is low,
resulting in oxygen to the source of life aquatic creatures can not be met.

Cause of death, while chronic treatment can cause kidney damage, reduce growth
and brain malfunctions, impairment of the blood and reduce the oxygen-carrying
capacitation on the fish's body.

RESULTS

Rubber Liquid Waste Processing

Method

Phytoremediation
(Dwi dkk, 2005)
Rubber industrial wastewater was diluted to the
desired concentration of liquid waste

Utilizing media plants to reduce levels of BOD, COD and

TSS in wastewater rubber.

RESULTS

Rubber Liquid Waste Processing

Method

Bioremediation
Bricks composed of a layer of soil mix with
10-35% iron particles, organic matter and
the sieve. furnished 2 processing zone ie
aerobic zone of the zeolite and the
anaerobic zone in the subsoil (wakatsuki
dkk,1993)

Utilizing bacteria degrade waste with more than 1013

bacteria / m2 ground(Masunaga ddk,2012).

COVER
Recommendation

Conclusion
1.Model RLTEC used to estimate the removable
substance to various environmental media of air,
water and soil sources manufacturing activities,
production and consumption.
2.Model dilution is predictive methods ekstimasi
release of the substance through the point of
discharge and manufacturing resources.
3.Characteristics of a rubber mill effluent is
cloudy and smells bad.
4.Konsentrasi substance or substances (BOD,
COD, TSS and ammonia) excessive liquid waste
rubber can be toxic to living organisms and can
cause environmental pollution.
5.Metode rubber industrial wastewater treatment
can be done with technology in environmental
engineering,
namely
phytoremediation,
bioremediation and others.

Continues to assess
wastewater treatment in
the
field
of
rubber
industry
for
further
research with larger scale

gradually
indispensable.
