On your desks you have one sheet that has a list of bullet points, that include causes,
effects and responses of coastal erosion. You also have a table to complete.
Your task:
Bronze(F/E) Sort the bullet points in to causes, effects and responses
Silver(D/C) Sort the bullet points in to causes, primary effects, secondary effects and
responses
Gold(B/A) Sort the bullet points into causes, primary effects, secondary effects, short term
responses and long term responses
Causes
Responses
Short Term
The coastal bedrock is weak glacial boulder clays easily weathered and
eroded
Beaches are narrow, providing little protection for the cliffs
The prevailing north easterly waves attack the coast
Large waves undermine the cliffs through abrasion, hydraulic action
freeze thaw weathering and solution

Effects
Primary
Secondary
Land slips/slides/slumps
Mudflows
Rock fall and cliff collapse
Erosion of coastline
Long Term
Plenary.
