Description: This is a personal health course designed to help students learn to choose
healthful behaviors that will enhance their current lives and prepare them for the
demands and stressors of post-high school education, work and family life. The course
includes study on the concept of wellness and the skills needed for healthful behaviors in
mental, physical and social health. The focus is on personal application of the skills
within each area of your health. The activities in this course will include a variety of
group and personal experiences. An introduction of a variety of occupations in the
Health Services industry will be studied throughout the semester. There is no text used
in this course but there will be readings from current materials occasionally.

Daily Work- 10 pts per day
Projects- 10 pts to 100 pts
Quizzes & Tests- 10 to 100 pts
Notebook- 25, 50, & 75 pts
Homework:
Homework may be
given from time
to time. However,
it is my belief that
if you use your
time wisely in
class you can get
the majority of
work done in
class.

Participation:
All students will receive 10 points per
day for proper class participation. Students
who are not present will forfeit the
participation points. In the event of an
excused absence, see the instructor for
make-up work in this area.
- Tardiness can result in losing points
3. If you eat food; throw away the trash, keep it off the
ground
4. Water is allowed (sports drinks okay too)
5. Positive participation in class is expected
6. All work is to be turned in on time to BROWN box
7. Absolutely NO profanity, radios, CD players, cell
phones, pagers, toys, ect. in class.
8. Maintain a relationship with one study partner in class
