Vrooms

theory states that an individual

tends to act in a certain way in the
expectation that the act will be followed
by a given outcome and according to the
attractiveness of that outcome.

A person performs better and makes

more effort if they believe that
they will be able to finish a task
successfully.
Example: I cant do this really means
I dont think I can do this successfully.

Performing

at a certain level leads to a desired

outcome.
Example:

Copying and studying my notes will

help me to pass the test. (Successful outcome
is passing the test.)

This

describes what goals are attained to meet

an individuals needs.

Example:

Passing the test will result in high

marks which leads to scholarship entrance
money to attend university
