SPECIFICATIONS FOR FORMWORK OF

COLUMN

1.Plywood to be used for making column sides should be 12mm thick plastic
coated Ply.

2. Column side should be made out of single piece plywood.


3. All four sides of column should be erected properly and
tightly fitted at corners in truly plumb and line.
4. Wooden stud of size 100mm X 40mm should be nailed
along the length at a clear spacing of 230mm (maximum).
5. Column sides should be supported using Double angle
(40x40x6 mm) / ISMC 100/ 100mmx100mm wooden runner as a
wailer. First Wailer shall fixed at 230mm from bottom and the
subsequent wailers are fixed at a c/c spacing of 450mm(Maximum)
and the last member matching the top of column shuttering .
If tie rod are used, spacing can be increased to
900mm.

COLUMN
SHUTTERING

SPECIFICATIONS FOR FORMWORK OF BEAM

Beam bottoms and sides should be made from plastic coated Ply
wood

and closed shuttering system to avoid leakage .


Following points are to be implemented for beam shuttering:
1. PLY WOOD:

a) Ply wood to be used for making beam bottom and sides should
be 12mm. thick plastic coated.

2.MAKING OF BEAM BOTTOM & SIDES:


a)The beam bottom should have 12 mm. groove on both sides of
bottom ply to accommodate beam side ply.

b) 100mm x 40mm horizontal wooden runner should be nailed


along all sides.

Other Points to be noted:


a) Beam side should not over hang the beam bottom.
b) For peripheral Beams 100mm X 100mm Cantilever wooden
runner should be provided through beam bottom on which 2 nos
minimum 230mm wide plank should be fixed all along the
peripheral beam as a working platform.
c) 75mm to 100mm X 40mm wooden runner will be provided
connecting both beam sides at top to keep straight and at
required beam width.

BEAM SIDE

Notes:
All shuttering material should be of proper quality in terms of shape,
above mentioned sizes.
Eg.: Wooden runner with damage in section, chipped-off
corners/ends, cracked in between or bent, cannot be used. Wooden
pieces of improper size, quality will not be allowed to use as a part of
shuttering arrangement.
The Shuttering material should be according to the following
Specified dimensions:
Ply
: Plastic Coated Ply of 12mm thickness
Wooden Runner : 100mmX100mm,100mm X 75mm
Racker Support : 100mm X 40mm, 100mmx100mm
Stud
: 100mm X 40mm,100mmx100mm

SPECIFICATIONS FOR SLAB FORMWORK

Shuttering shall be of good quality material of proper size and shape.


1.Slab Bottom should be plastic coated Plywood of 12mm thick.

2.Wooden runner(100mm X 40mm) should be fixed underneath the


ply bottom of slab along the longer span.
3. The maximum spacing between 2 adjacent runners should be
230mm.
4. Acrow span to be fixed along the shorter span (Perpendicular to
the wooden runners)and the maximum distance between two acrow
spans should be 600mm c/c.
5.First prop should be at 230mm from column & other
props should be at 450mm C/C .

6. The ends of acrow span should be supported by adjustable


U-props.
7. Horizontal support (Reband) should be given to beam side
to avoid displacement of beam sides.
8.Wooden runner(100mm X 100mm) is to be fixed under the
first batten, along the periphery of each and every room.
9. Packing should be given between the U-end of prop and
wooden runner to prevent its movement.
10.Acrow span should not be used below beam bottom for
supporting.
