Cavitation Attack
Cavitation is sometimes classed as a special
form of erosion; the mechanical effect
derives from the collapse of gas bubbles in
the high-pressure regions of the unit. Thus
the damage is worse at the outlet side of
pumps an can occur across control valves or
orifice plates because of the venturi effect.
