CONCLUSION

ABSTRACT:
The topic begins with a discussion on parallel computing - what it is and how it's used,
followed by a discussion on concepts and terminology associated with parallel computing and
their respective hardware components. Parallella motherboard is a hardware to use parallel
computing. That is giving unbelievable performance and finish multiple tasks at a time. This
board is help to any one work on the parallel computing. If the next generation of programmers
(kids today) arent completely fluent in parallel programming, then something has gone terribly
wrong. Kids should be writing parallel programs from day one and there isnt a better platform to
get started with.

WHAT IS PARAELLEL COMPUTING ?

Parallel computing is a type of computation in which many calculations are carried out simultaneously, operating
on the principle that large problems can often be divided into smaller ones, which are then solved at the same time.

WHAT IS THE PARALLELLA?

The Parallella computer is a high performance single board computer developed by Adapteva that includes a dual-core
ARM A9 CPU, a field programmable gate array (FPGA), and Adapteva's unique 16-core Epiphany coprocessor. The
board offers USB, Ethernet, and HDMI connectivity, making it a great standalone computer. The Parallella can also be
used to build massively parallel computer clusters with minimal power consumption.

PARALLELLA SOFTWARE
Ubuntu Linux is the official operating system for the Parallella computer and the
GNU-based Epiphany SDK (eSDK) is the official software development
environment.
Parallella doesn't outstrip Raspberry Pi in all aspects. The Pi has a GPU
(graphics processing unit), making it a good fit for media center software like
XBMC, complete with audio and video streaming. "The Raspberry Pi has a really
great graphics processor. That's adapteva core technology is really Epiphany core
processor, which is more for image processing and the FPGA logic. I would say
people should buy both.".

PARALLELLA - ADVANTAGES
The Parallella has over 40 Gbps of IO bandwidth. Thats roughly equivalent to FOURHUNDRED Raspberry Pi 10/100 interfaces. Its very small (credit card sized just like the
Raspberry Pi and Beaglebone). Size does matter and the smaller you make it the better. Fully
documented and openly available datasheets, schematics, board specifications. Field
Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) is a big part of the present and future of computing but is
rarely found in inexpensive single board computers. FPGAs give anyone with courage the power
to design custom hardware. Its not as hard as you think!

PARALLELLA - CONCLUSION
Making parallel computing easy to use has been described as "a problem as hard as any
that computer science has faced". With such a big challenge ahead, we need to make sure that
every programmer has access to cheap and open parallel hardware and development tools.
Inspired by great hardware communities like Raspberry Pi and Arduino, we see a critical need
for a truly open, high-performance computing platform that will close the knowledge gap in
parallel programing. The goal of the Parallella project is to democratize access to parallel
computing. and sell with low price for everyone.
