REASONS
POVERTY:
Extreme poverty with an inability to afford raising a
child is one of the reasons given for female infanticide
in India.
INDIAN CULTURE:
The dowry system in India is another reason that is
given for female infanticide. Although India has taken
steps to abolish the dowry system , the practice
persists, and for poorer families in rural regions
female infanticide and gender selective abortion is
attributed to the fear of being unable to raise a
suitable dowry and then being socially ostracised.
ILLITRACY AND LAW EDUCATION LEVEL.

 GENDER DISCRIMINATION:
A situation in which someone is treated less
well because of their sex, usually when a
woman is treated less well than a man
(Malnutrition , Poor Health , Lack Of Education
, Unskilled , Mistreatment)
FUTURE SPECULATIONS:
Education , Marriage , Dowry ETC.
Some of the other reasons : are the belief that
it is only the son who can perform the last
rites, lineage and inheritance runs through the
male line, sons will look after parents in old
age, men are bread winners etc.

 WHAT IS FEMALE INFANTICIDE?

Female infanticide is the deliberate
killing of newborn female
children. The Modern practice of sexselective abortion is often discussed as a
closely related issue. Female infanticide
is a major cause of concern in several
nations such as China and India. It has
been argued that the "low status" in
which women are viewed in patriarchal
societies creates a bias against females.

Can Female Infanticide be stopped?

Make up your mind: The very first change that we all have to
bring in us is we have to change our thinking. We should not
consider girls as burden. Today, girls can earn (in fact earning)
like boys then why they are killed. They can also support their
families financially, so we should shred away the fact that girls
are only liability. We should consider them assets like boys. For
this, we have to make our society literate.
Stop Prenatal Sex Determination: Although, Indian Government
has put a ban on prenatal sex-determination, it is being carried
out. Prenatal sex-determination is now a crime in India for which
the tough punishments are decided, but even after that some
unethical lab owners and doctors are carrying out this shameful
act. As parents, we should say no to prenatal sex-determination
and get ready to adopt our baby (son or daughter).

 Eradicate dowry system: We must eradicate dowry system

from India, which is the biggest reason for female
infanticide. When parents do not need to collect large
amount of money as dowry, they will not consider
daughters the liability, which helps to stop female
infanticide.
Descendant Fact: Son is considered the successor of the
family; therefore, they are given the value. But, why we all
forget the fact that without a mother (who is a female), son
cannot come in this world? So, if you want descendant for
the family, stop female infanticide.
Do not forget that you are human: Last but not the least,
do not forget that you are human. Every human has a kind
heart, so look inside that heart, and ask you the question
that killing someone who has not yet come in the world or
has just come, is a noble cause. Your answer will be no,
then why female infanticide is being done.
