ABSTRACT:
The goal of this project is to design an Accident

Prevention System which helps in

preventing/avoiding accidents.
Sleep related accidents tend to be more severe, possibly
because of the higher speeds involved and because the
driver is unable to take any avoiding action, or even
brake,
prior to the collision
To implement this, the sensors are connected to
the Arduino.
This is programmed in such a manner that the
vehicle is automated against accident prevention.

INTROUCTION:
Driving to save lives, time, and money in spite of the

conditions around you and the actions of others. This is the slogan.
Drivers drowsiness is recognized as an important
factor in the vehicle accidents.
It was demonstrated that driving performance
deteriorates with increased drowsiness with resulting
crashes constituting more than 20% of all vehicle
accidents.
But the life lost once cannot be re-winded.
Advanced technology offers some hope to avoid these
up to some extent for Defensive Driving.

DESCRIPTION:
EYE BLINK SENSOR:
The infrared rays are transmitted in to our eye using the IR
transmitter. The reflected infrared rays from the eye are
received using the IR Receiver.
If the eye remains unmoved or not blinked then the signal
from receiver is high otherwise the receiver signal is low.
MOTOR DRIVER CIRCUIT l293d:
Even the simplest robot requires a motor to rotate a wheel
or perform a particular action.
Motor driver is basically a current amplifier which takes a
low-current signal from the microcontroller and gives out a
proportionally higher current signal which can control and
drive a motor.

ARDUINO:
Arduino senses the environment by receiving
inputs from many sensors, and affects its
surroundings by controlling lights, motors, and
other actuators.

PROCEDURE:
Determine the minimum eye blinks of a normal person per minute

(12 15), which is considered as the threshold.

Connect the IR circuit to the board using desired pin configurations
so that it will detect the eye blinks of the person driving the vehicle.
Apply the power supply to the microcontroller circuit, reset it before
processing.
Check the eye blinks of a driving person for 5 second, which is
considered as threshold time.
After detecting the eye blinks compare it with the threshold and
check whether the person is sleepy or awake.
If the person is closing his eyes continuously 5 second delay then
he is considered as sleepy person, then display the message on LCD
as Warning and slow down the vehicle by giving an alarm sound
through Buzzer.
Perception of eye blinks of the person driving vehicle is calculated
with IR circuit. Displayed the calculated eye blinks using the LCD.
Controlling of the vehicle when the person is sleeping so that it
should not met with any collisions. Providing the caution for the
driver to awake by using the Buzzer circuit which alarms sound

CONCLUSION:
It has been daily trend for us to read lot of collision

in newspaper happened mainly because of over

speeding of vehicle i.e. rash driving and tiredness
states of driver like heavy-eyed, drunken state.
In order to prevent this problem a device was
designed for preventing collisions. Eye based control
will be the future of all types of device control, thus
making the operation so comfortable and much
easier with less human presence.
A system to monitor tiredness by detecting eye blink
& head movement was developed using algorithms.

ADVANTAGES:
Life of the driver can be saved by locking the

ignition system of the car.

Traffic management can be maintained by
reducing accidents and traffic jams can be
avoided.
Using GPS & GSM exact location of the Car
can be traced on MAP.

APPLICATIONS:
The prime purpose is to provide safety

measures.
It is used for Automatic parking.
It can be used in wireless technology.
The eye blink module of this project can be
separately used for RFID detection in global
industries.
It can be used in image processing application
by replacing sensor by camera module.
