Deposition of acid rain
NO2 acts as an acute irritant
Reduction in visibility, respiratory problem, heart and
lung diseases
High concentration of CO can cause physiological and
pathological changes and ultimately death.
Local irritation to the upper respiratory tract and longterm exposure may cause tooth erosion
Bioaccumulates in fish as methylmercury (CH3Hg) and
poses a serious health hazard for humans
Cancer, severe reproductive and developmental
problems
