Sociolinguistics is the study of language in relation
to society. Sociolinguistics, on the other hand, seek
to analyze why every individual communicates in
different ways, and concerns with the relationship
between society and language, and seek to find the
answers to the phenomena that occur causing by
language in society (Hudson : 1992)

INTRODUCTION TO SOCIOLINGUISTICS
Sociolinguistics is concerned with the relationship
between language and context in which it is used.
Examining the way people use the language in
different social contexts provides a wealth
information about the way language works, as well
as about the social relationship in a community, and
the way people signal aspects of their social identity
through the language (Holmes 2000:1)
