branded products that fulfills the fashion needs of man and
woman regarding clothing, footwear and accessories.

Myanmar under Daraz international

Brand new service

Currently Daraz.com is only operating in Bangladesh. But

we would like to expand this business overseas and cater to
the NRBs living in England.
We will provide them with a unique online shopping
experience where they can order authentic Bangladeshi
products such as Jamdani saree,Shutki fish, Pure ghee,
Nokshi katha and other traditional hand crafted materials

As we currently have a good supply chain established in

Bangladesh we can use it and export these products easily
to UK where there is good demand for these things among
NRBs.

Religion
Most of the our targeted customers are muslims and hindus so
we need to provide products which will appeal to them.

Politics
The United Kingdom is a unitary state governed within the
framework of a constitutional monarchy, in which the Monarch is
the head of state and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom is
the head of government.
There are two main parties in the United Kingdom: the Conservative
Party, and the Labour Party.
Political philosophy can influes the decisions of the customers so it
is paramount that we keep this in mind.

Economic

Economic conditions and trends are very important to determind

the spending pattern of the customers.
Current british trend is to spend more money in recreational
purpouses and more comsumption based.
Also there is a rising demand in online shopping and mobile
shopping.
UK consumers are more inclined to order products online rather
than face to face shopping.
This presents a good opportunity for online shopping sites.

Education

The education Level of General british population is higher than

Bangladesh but when it comes to NRBs there is a stark contrast.
The older generation of british Bangladeshis have a lower
educational background but things have been different for the
new generation. Reports from secondary schools have shown
that many Bangladeshi pupils are making significant progress,
compared with other ethnic minority group.

Another thing to keep in mind that buyers in UK are more

informed about the market condition and product offerings. So
we need to be transparent about product information.

Language

Our target customers are mainly Bengali and English speaker so

we need to design our marketing message accordingly.

Social structure

Social structure in UK is classified as socio economic classification

where social standing is determined by education level and
occupation. We need to keep this in mind when dealining with
our customers.

British Bangladeshis usually stands in the social class of C,D and

E accordinig to the office of national statistics. Though in recent
years the social standings of NRBs are getting better in UK.

Conclusion

When we design our international business plan for expanding

our business in UK we need to look at all the 6 cultural norms and
value system. By getting a clear picture of these it will help us
make the macro level decision making.

Recommandation

As a manager of Daraz.com, it is my duty to understand the

difference between BD and UK culture defined by cultural norms
and value system. I need to understand that some cultural
elements are more prominent than other when it comes to
shaping the customers mind.

As this is a brand new startup in the UK the most important thing

that I as a manager need to focus is building the brand image of
the company.

If I can successfully create a positive and trusting brand image of

the company in the customers mind then capturing the market
share and increasing the profit margin will be easier.
