Who Produces Technical Communication?
Most technical communication is produced by one of two different
categories of people:

Technical professionals. Technically trained individuals do a lot

of writing, including e-mails, letters, proposals and reports.

Technical communicators. Technical communicators create

documents such as manuals, proposals, reports sales literature,
web sites, letters, journal articles and speeches. Many technical
communicators still call themselves technical writers (or tech
writers) even though the term technological communicator more
accurately reflects the increasing importance of graphics and the
use of other media, such as online documentation.
