what should be your returning strengths?

File game plans for next years opponents
and include self-evaluations.

Off-season-staff
Post-season conversations with your
captains and coaching staff individually.
Take notes and look for any common themes,
suggestions or concerns.
For example, more film time, more
fundamentals, etc.
Implement appropriate feedback.
Address any concerns you have internally.

Off-season - Players
Evaluate the players individually with
regards to performance, effort, attitude
and athletic talents. Divide this task
among the staff.
Meet with each player and discuss the
evaluation.
Player needs to set goals with such
feedback in mind.
Goals need to be written and stored by
staff.

Spring Training
Spring training is a position specific
fundamental time devoted to any and
all football mechanics that require full
pads
Scheme-wise specific blocking, zone rules,
WR blocks; P.O.E.; open field tackling, LB
shed, DL post techniques
Blitzing and blitz pick-up
Film their techniques and meet before the
next practice to make improvements

Spring Practice
First three practices, focus on basic
fundamentals, execution
Practice tape is crucial to teach basic body
position and leverage
Position meetings to review film and their
progress-20 min.
Each skill level must be taught & mastered
before advancing
Practices #3-5; Base offense and defense should
be installed/reviewed & executed efficiently

Spring Practice
Practices #6-7 should include fundamental
time, group and team for timing purposes
Practices #8 or 9; Philosophy of handling
certain situations can be introduced and
explain our approach
Position competition, specific game situations,
punt from end zone, 2-minute, basic goal-line
packages can be introduced and executed
Practice #10 full scrimmage or game
simulation with position battles and certain
situations emphasized

Shorts and helmets
All special teams reviewed, including hands
team, onside, fake field goals and punts, kick
block units, opponents fakes
Team offense called with audibles and 2minute offense
Team defense alignments and calls vs.
formations or D & D, review all blitzes

Friday
Team Meal
Team Meeting to include;
Sticker awards given for prior game
Special teams personnel and plan
Offensive game plan review, keys, packages
and adjustments
Defensive game plan review, blitzes and
adjustments

Friday
Meeting continued;
Unit captains will address team with goals
Goals should realistic and fit team goals
Cell phones collected and bagged
