NUTRITIONAL ASSESSMENT

BY ANTHROPOMETRY AND
CLINICAL EXAMINATION OF
THE ALLOTTED FAMILY
NAME:
ROLL:
4th SEMESTER
KPC MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL

INTRODUCTION
The nutritional status of an individual is
often the result of many inter-related factors. It
is influenced by the adequacy of food intake
both in terms of quantity and quality and also
by the physical health of the individual. The
nutritional status of a community is the sum of
the nutritional status of the individuals who
form that community.

OBJECTIVES OF
NUTRITIONAL ASSESSMENT
1) To obtain precise information on the prevalence and
distribution of nutritional problems of a given family.
2) To identify the individuals or population groups who are at
risk or in greatest needs of assistance.
3) To develop health care programmes that meet the needs of
the family defined by the assessment, including evaluation of
the effectiveness of that particular programme.
