SOFT PROJECTS

Through with their vision and mission,

San Roque has done several recreational
activities and soft projects for the
barangay during 2015 to manifest their
Visions of Vale na San Roque:

Some of the recreational activities are for the

fire victims of Feliciano Drive, in which they
have conducted a variety show and thus they
gave additional relief goods to the fire victims
during that show.

Other recreational activities were; The Archery

and Pencak Silat Tournament which were
conducted last August 22, 2015, The Palarong
Pambarangay, Street dance and drum & lyre.

Presently, San Roque has an E-Library for

the students at the barangay hall for free
of use for the purposes of learning,
research, and school projects. This will
benefit all students of San Roque who
has no internet and books sources. This
is funded by the barangay with the help
and coordination with Zamboanga
Library and is considered as a continuing
soft project for San Roque.

Aside from the recreational programs,

they had also conducted several
seminars like on IED bomb awareness &
emergency response to wit they will be
able to maintain good and alert
responsible constituents of barangay
San Roque. The participants were Purok
Leaders, Day Care Workers, Barangay
Tanod, BIN and CVO. The sponsor agency
is the PNP Regional Office IX.

The following soft projects that were

already conducted were; Project Inidoro,
under their free medical mission the
operation tuli and the TB task force,
Feeding Programs and distribution of
school supplies & slippers to indigent
residents of Sitio Salum, and the
distribution of drum & lyre at Salum
Elementary School.

The additional soft project to alleviate poverty of

the barangay is a program for the out of school
youth (OSY); the barangay will hire one job order
for the mapping of locations, survey to identify
areas that have OSY and to avoid violence against
women and children. The barangay will look for a
sponsor for the education and livelihood for the
OSY to give them future employment. This program
will lessen the case of OSY for being bystander in
the area that might result to troubles and crimes
for being jobless.

Another soft project for another job order

that the barangay will hire is for the
Barangay ID, he will perform surveys,
orientations, and until the radio
frequency Identification Card will be
establish in the barangay.

The infrastructure project for the Material

Recovery Facility is on-going and has a target
date of completion in coordination with the
Department of Sciences and Technology (DOST) on
late October 2015 or first week of November 2015.
This program will benefit the San Roque farmers for
the fertilizers that will generate from this facility as
well as the OCENR for the garbage recycling. This
will lessen the garbage at the dumpsite or the
sanitary land fill. This program will create additional
income for the barangay.

The transparency is in their mission as it goes with their barangay logo/seal that
serves from the heart and with a smile, trustworthy, efficient and exemplary with
no personal interest.

Their continuity or sustainability and social equity will continue yearly as to their
Soft Projects and recreational activities like the palarong pambarangay, the drum
& lyre festivals, the archery & Pendack competition, the variety shows and others
to maintain their social and civil society participation to meet their VALE na SAN
ROQUE.

For the infrastructure projects, there are several projects that are still to be
implemented this year or early next year and with an appropriated amount of
Php 28,700,000.00. For the year 2016, the priorities of the Barangay
Council are school buildings for Salum Elementary School and National High
School, Improvement of another Health Center into a two storey, additional
Drainage Systems and Slope Protections or River Walls with total estimated
amount of approximately 28 million pesos. These projects are aligned with the
priorities of the present administration which are Security, Health and Education.

The E-Library is their continuing soft

project, the rest will be conducted yearly
and as to necessity like the operations
Tuli, Feeding Programs and the other
medical missions.

Overall, both the soft and

infrastructure projects of barangay San
Roque has contributed a lot in poverty
alleviation of its constituents.
