Culture Shock in United States

When attending schools in the United States,
International students and immigrant should be
aware with these new classroom norm in
foreign education institution.

Indonesia

Students are allowed to

criticize or even contradict
their teachers.

Students must obey their

teacher directions and
remain absolutely silent
during a class.

Prayer may be forbidden

There are a variety of institutions of higher
learning that can be chose by young students,
middle-aged students, and senior citizen.

In the United States, students allow

expected in the subject. If student

In US, relationship between students in the
classroom can be cooperative or
competitive. Therefore, in classes where

may be reluctant to share lecture notes or
information for fear that their own grades
