ENERGY RESOURCES

Energy can be defined as the capacity to do work.Work such as pushing or pulling

Is the product of force. Thus ,energy is an abstract concept. We cannot see it or feel

It,even if we have to pay for it.It is an important factor in the development of an economy
The demand for energy has increased with the economic development of the world. Som
of the energy resources are exhaustible or non-renewable,eg;coal and mineral oil but ma
are renewable eg;water and solar energy.Other non conventional energy resources are b
gas ,wind ,geothermal energy.

CLASSIFIACATION OF ENERRGY RESOURCES

Growing Energy needs
Solar energy
Technology in Harnessing solar Energy
Wind energy
Geothermal Energy
Hyde Energy
Tidal energy
Biomass energy
Hydrogen Energy and fuel cells

GROWING ENERGY NEEDS

Energy is an input in all sectors of any
countrys economy. The standerd of living of a given
country consumption.Energy crisis is due to the two
reasons.
1.The population of the world has increased
rapidly.
2.The standerd of human beings has in creased.

GROWING ENERGY NEEDS

The annual per capita consumption of energy is directly replaced to the per
..capita income of various countries.for example the per capita income of U.S.A
is about 50Thanks times more than per capita income of India, and so also is the
per capita energy consumption. The per capita energy consumption U.S.A is 8000
k what per year whereas the per capita energy consumption U.S.A with 7% of
world's pollution consumers 32% of the total energy consumed in the word. There
fore one might conclude that to be materially prosperous a human being needs
to consume more and more energy than his own.in India with the high rate of
growth in population and increasing development needs the growth in the demand
of primary energy has been accompanied by shift to and increase in the share of
commercial energy in the total energy demand.

ALTERNATE ENERGY SOURCES

The conventional sources of are
depleting and may get exhausted in future nuclear
energy required skilled workers and poses the big
problem of radioactive waste disposal. Non
conventional sources are thus the sources to be
utilized in future rugh estimated of the long term
contribution.

SOLAR ENERGY
Energy comes to the earth from the
sun. This energy keeps the temperature of the earth
that in colder space couses current in the atmosphere
and in ocean couses the water cycle and generate
photo synthesis in plants.
The solar power where sun hits
atmosphere is 10 watts where the solar power on
earth's surface is 10watts .The total world -wide power
demand of all needs of civilization on is 10 watts. There
fore the sum gives us 1000 times more power than we
need.

WIND ENERGY
Wind power like solar power has
envoved over a long period of time from early
Chinese and persian civilization to the present. In
India high wind speeds are obtainable in coastal
areas of sanrashtra western rajasthan and some
parts of central India .

GEOTHERMAL ENERGY
This is the energy which lies
embedded within earth .The idea of harnessing the
earth's internal heat is not now. As really as 1904
geothermal power utilising dry steam was developed
in Italy and natural internal heat in USSR, Japan
Mexico ad california.

CONCLUSION
Energy can be defined as the capacity to do work.such as
pushing or pulling Is the product of force. Thus energy is an abstract
concept.we cannot see it or feel It. Even it we have to pay for it.It is an
important factor in the Development of an economy. The demand for energy
has increased with the economic development of the world.
