Introduction
"Web

Based Examination Office" is a web based system

that will not only assist the examination office but will also make it
easier for the students to perform the task related to the
examination department.
Currently examination office activity mostly includes a lot of manual
calculations and is mostly paper based. The project aims to bring in
a centralized system that will ensure the activities in the context of
an examination that can be effectively managed.
Following are the modules that we are working on:
Student Register
Admin Panel
Student Login
View & Update Details
Mark sheet Generation

Problem Statement

Online semester exam form is not available. So students

have to fill the paper form and fill the same personal details
each and every time.
Students are required to fill the subjects with the subject
code and in order, which is an extra work and many students
get confused in this.
Students are unable to view and get their mark sheet in the
day their result gets published.
Difficulties in analysis of students result for faculty teachers.

Objective

To keep the record of the students information and their past

results.
To make the semester exam form available online.
To make the marksheet available online.
To build a desktop application for the admin for the purpose
of entering marks.
To make a tool which makes it easier for subject teacher to
analyze the students result in comparison with past results.

Literature review
This system is basically design for Examination office in
IOE College. While, exam form submission is still done through
pen paper, IOE has tried to published result online through
exam.ioe.edu.np but still now this website only provide symbol
number of pass students.
IOE has made exam form submission online for entrance exam
through entrance.ioe.edu.np.
Information about some of the existing exam forms has been
collected. We have attached here a sample of the form that is
currently being used in IOE colleges.

Proposed System overview

The proposed system will be as follow:
Initially the students will be prompted to register themselves
into the system and provide the necessary information about
them. Each student will have their own account.
The information of the students will be stored in the database
for the future assist in filling the form.
While the students pay their fee, their name and the voucher
number will be stored in the system database by the bank
employee.
Bank employee will have their separate account for
uploading the voucher number and the students name.
The students will have to enter the voucher number while
filling the exam form.

Proposed system overview

Continuee

The admin will check the applications and will approve or

reject them.
The students can receive their exam card by logging into
their account.
The internal marks of the students are sent to the admin form
each college in the form of an excel sheet, which the admin
can directly import into the system.
The admin will have a desktop application for the purpose of
entering the marks of the students.

Methodology
We intend to use spiral model of software development.
We will be using PHP ( Laravel framework) , Java and MySQL
database.
We take reference of the current examination form for
knowing what details of the students are needed.
Interviewing the teachers and the staff of the exam
department about the flow of the marks and the examination
form.
For the security of the system, we will perform research on
different security options such as SSH key, fail to ban, firewall
etc. for choosing the appropriate solution.

This system comprises of 5 Modules:

1. Student Register: - To register students have to just provide
their Personal Details like Name, Address, Phone No, Faculty,
etc., and a photo, to the register himself into the System.
2. Admin Panel : - Admin can view who has enrolled into the
system, and can see all the new enrollment and update
request on his login to the system. Admin can enter marks
for every subject or import spreadsheet of marks.
3. Student Login: - Students can use their credentials to login
into the system. After successful login they can fill exam
form and can view their results as well.
4. View and Update Details: - System allows registered
students to view and modify/update the personal details like
Phone number, email-id, etc.
5. Mark sheet Generation: - System allows admin to generate
mark sheet of examination for every student

Conclusion

While the world is advancing day by day IOE still lacks the
basic features related to the work management before,
during and after the examination.
Keeping in mind this fact we are attempting to build this
project which is beneficial for the same.
This project will prove to be beneficial for both the
students, examination office and the colleges as well in a
sense that it would provide a platform for both of them to
work easily, as this project provide the feature of submitting
forms online, managing large records of students, their
marks and their details, etc.
It would be really a great experience to work on this project.
