He was born in Streatham Hill, London,
England
He was the first of two sons and was born to a
solicitors clerk in Streatham Hill
London,England
His profession was a structural engineer.

Education(School &
University)
He attended Salesian College until he
was 16 years old
After this he moved to Northampton
Polytechnic but didnt complete his
course
He then moved to Westminister
Technical College in London,England
on a day release course in civil
engineering.

Career-General
Began working as an engineer in the
1950s and retired in 2002
No buildings were built by him after
2008.
He worked with Owen Williams, Ove
Arup, Felix Samuely.
Began an institute called Anthony
Hunt Associates

Changes to Engineering
There was a massive change in
engineering after the 1990s because
of Anthony Hunts presence:
He had changed the role of the
engineers after the 1990s, they had
to build structures which were
responsive
to social, economic,

Anthony Hunt has built
some excellent structures:
He built the Creak Vean
House(A concrete
structure embedded in
the Cornish coastal
landscape)
He also built the Hopkins
house in 1976 and was
the ambitious building
He had also engineered
the Sainsbury Centre for
Visual Arts

Projects
Anthony has contributed to many
engineering projects, These include:
The Museum of Scotland
The Lloyds Register of Shipping
The Don Valley Stadium

Awards/Prizes
He won a competition in 1991 for his
excellent work in a complex project
called the Museum of Scotland.
He received the 2002 Stirling Prize
for his outstanding project called the
Lloyds register of shipping which was
completed in 1999. It had also
become part of Londons Royal
Academy.
