REGULATIONS
In accordance with MSVE
2016 of Veterinary Council of
India

DEFINITIONS
Course of Study : B. V. Sc. & A. H.
Duration: 5 professional years
(Including 1 year internship)
Professional year: A minimum of 210
instructional days (4th Professional
year: 315 instructional days)
Summer or annual vacation: 25 30
days

DEFINITIONS
Credit hours: A lecture class of one
hour per week / a practical class of 2
hrs per week / a working period of
three hours in the Veterinary Clinical
complex (VCC) or Livestock Farm
Complex (LFC)
Subject: Each subject is divided into
different units for the purpose of
teaching and examinations

DEFINITIONS
Internal examinations: Three internal
examinations in a professional year
30% of the syllabus First internal
31 - 60% of the syllabus Second
internal
61 - 90% of the syllabus Third internal
Maximum marks for each internal 40 M
(Reduced to 10 M in each internal)

DEFINITIONS
Grade Point: Total marks in a subject
out of hundred divided by 10
Eg: 80 marks = 8.00
Credit Point: Grade point multiplied
by the credit hours
Eg: for a 4 credit course with GP of
8.00, the credit point is 8.00X4= 32.00

DEFINITIONS
GPA: Sum of total credit points
divided by sum of the credit hours in
a professional year
OGPA: Sum of the grand total of
credit points earned divided by the
grand sum of the credit hours

ADVISORY SYSTEM
1 credit hour is allocated
Group of 10 students will be allocated to
one advisor
Advisor is one among the faculty members
Student shall make correspondence to
authorities through advisor only
Advisors maintain records of previous
history of the student, subjects registered,
exams, grades etc.

REGISTRATION
Beginning of each academic year

Student shall register set of subjects
prescribed for each
professional/academic year and fill in
registration cards
Advisors countersign and submit
them to the Associate Dean for
further action

REGISTRATION
Fee: notified each year by the
university
First day of the registration no fine
Subsequent days 100/- per day for the

No registration is permitted after that

Failed students shall register all the


failed subjects for fulfillment of the
requirements of the professional year

If student wish to leave the college after
completion of first professional year of
study on temporary basis should
obtain prior permission of the Associate
Dean for discontinuation within one
month from the date of absence to be
eligible for readmission at later date
Maximum discontinuation shall not
exceed two academic years
otherwise, the admission stands

ATTENDANCE
A student leaving the college with TC
not eligible for re-admission
Mass absence of students from a class
or examination shall not be condoned

Detailed lecture outlines will be made
available to the student in the
beginning of the professional year for
each subject by the course in-charge
A minimum of 50% marks in each
subject in theory and practical
separately to pass the subject
Weightage of theory and practical will
be 60:40

gets cancelled and has to register the failed

declaration of results
Failure in more than two subjects not promoted
reregister the failed subjects
