Books referred to all books or scriptures that Allah had
revealed to certain particular prophets for the guidance of mankind from time to time. There are four prominent revealed books mentioned in the Quran; - Torah; revealed to Prophet Musa. Refer to 5: 47 - Zabur; revealed to Prophet Daud. Refer to 4: 163 - Injil; revealed to Prophet Isa. Refer to 57: 28 - Quran; revealed to Prophet Muhammad. All the revealed books before the Quran have been altered and interpreted by their respective followers of later ages. Refer to 2: 76-80. Belief in revealed books means - belief in their original forms before being polluted and altered - before the Quran, Allah had also revealed books through His prophets and all books were from the same source, Allah. Basic Facts about the Quran Revealed to Prophet in fragments from time to time covering a period of 23 years. Divided into 114 chapters, meccan and madinah surahs. Bears three names; - al Quran means recitation. - Al Furqan means discrimination in the sense that it is the instrument by which man can discriminate between the truth and falsehood, to discern between the real and unreal, the good and the evil. - Ummul kitab means the mother of books. The Quran as the source of all knowledge. Characteristics of the Quran It has been preserved without a change of even a single word. It has been memorized by millions of Muslim, therefore, it is save in the memory of millions Muslims. It is revealed in a living language. Its text is miraculous in nature. It has been addressed to all mankind. It is complete and comprehensive. BELIEF IN ANGELS
Belief in their existence.
Angels have no share in Gods divinity. They are just implementing the Gods commands. They just carried out the orders of God to administer certain things in the universe. Four angels mentioned in the Quran: - Jibrail; his mission was primarily to bring the Revelations to the prophets and messengers of Allah. - Mikail, is said to be in charge of the supply of rain. - Israfil; is said to be in charge of the Day of judgment blowing the trumpet. - Izrail; takes out creatures lifes. BELIEF IN QADHA AND QADAR Belief in qadha and qadar constitutes the sixth pillar of iman. The belief in qadha and qadar means the acknowledgment of the power of Allah to do anything according to His own knowledge and Will without any interference from others. The word qadha basically means - that Allah has the ability to know, to will and to create all things. - everything has been determined by Allah upon His creation. - refers to the act of God upon His creations. - the accomplishment of things predestined to occur in accordance with Allahs knowledge, power and will. Qadar is the existence of the things which have been set up or determined by Allah since azali, from the very beginning. Qadar also literally means to create, to arrange, to state and to explain the knowledge of Allah. There are two types of qadar; i) General qadar- that means a specific arrangement of life that has been determined by Allah; for example the fire burns or poison is killing. ii) Specific qadar- that means special determination of Allah to certain people or creature. This is considered as extraordinary fate that Allah wished to create accordance to His will and power that cannot be done by other creations; for example the fire did not burn Prophet Ibrahim or other miracles of the prophets. So, believe in qadha and qadar means the belief that Allah has decided certain particular things for us and we have to accept everything that has been determined by Allah willingly. There are three aspects of belief in qadha and qadar: i) Allahs Knowledge ii) Allahs Will iii)Allahs Power Belief in qadha and qadar actually leads us to believe in the knowledge, will and power of Allah.
