    Toyama City is located on the coast of the Sea of Japan in central Japan. Since the 1960s, environmental pollution became a major problem in Toyama City. In response, Toyama City developed an environmental basic plan to make the city more environmentally friendly and focused on recycling. As part of these efforts, Toyama Eco Town was established based on a zero emissions concept. Toyama Eco Town includes several facilities that convert waste like plastic, wood, oil, and garbage into recycled products and energy through various recycling processes. The goal was to reduce waste and reliance on landfills while increasing recycling in an environmentally sustainable way.
