A procedure designed to obtain
information from a person through oral
responses to oral inquiries.
Forms of Interview:
1. Structured;
2. Unstructured;
3. Mixed.
Interview Contents:
1. Situational interview: a series of job-related
questions that focus on how the candidate
would behave in a given situation;
2. Behavioural Interview: a series of job-related
questions that focus on how the candidate
reacted to actual situations in the past;
3. Job-related interview: a series of job-related
questions that focus on relevant past job-
related behaviours;
4. Stress Interview: an interview in which
applicant is made uncomfortable by a series
of often rude questions. This helps in testing
candidates hypersensitivity and stress
tolerance.
Administering Interview:
1. One-by-one;
2. Panel interview;
3. Sequential ;
4. Computerised or personally
administered;
Steps in conducting effective Interview:
1. Know the job and skills required in
ideal employee;
2. Structure the interview;
3. Get organised;
4. Establish rapport;
5. Ask questions;

the interview;
