I. Introduction

History of Barangay Sta. Lourdes


Its formation was initiated on 1958 by Mr. Bernabe Flores, Mr.
PanfeloRacuya, and Mr. Felipe Bacunga
It was official called Barangay Sta. Lourdes (from the name Patron
Saint Nuestra Seora de Lourdes ) by Act of Congress, through the
approval of Congressman Mr. Gaudencio Abordo.
In the early 60s when the barrio was officially created, Mr.
Bernabe Flores was appointed as the 1st Teniente Del Barrio.
In 1964, after the passage of the barrio chapter, an election was
called to elect the 1st Barrio Captain. The 1st Elected Barrio
Captain was Mr. Isidro Palmes who served a four-year term up to
1967.
Background of the Study

Adopt-a-Barangay is an activity wherein an adopted Barangay is being


carefully studied in terms of their physical aspects and seeks to give a
solution and development plans for the further improvement of the area.
The specific scope of the study is as follows:
The determination of the current existing buildings or structures within
the Barangay, this includes the proposal of new a development plan.
The assessment of the area's existing roads and drainages to determine
and suggest the proper maintenances that should be undertaken.
The evaluation of the water distribution system in the area.

The whole study will be wrapped up together with the design criteria and
all the proposals.
