The Campus Theater

The Campus Theatre seats 393, and has an

over sized stage with an extended
workshop attached. The dressing rooms are
located under the stage and can be

Playwright consideration

The CSUNorthridge campus theater,

especially those who are constructed as a
thrust stage; are designed to accommodate
sound. Many of the theatrical performances
engage in sound performance. As a
playwright, engaging in constructing
dialogue that may not necessarily include
music in the traditional sense, these venues
would accommodate dialogue that played
with sound during delivery. This is due to
the arch ways of the stage and the
placement of the audience, who has access
to a three dimensional visual and auditory
interaction. Plays such as For Colored Girls
Only would be beneficial for this specific
construction.

Costumes create a transcendence into different realms,
time periods and species. Greek tragedies, plays that transcend into different realms such as
life, death, heaven, hell, hades, Olympus etc provide physical transitions that can be used to provide additional
communication to the audience with out dialogue.

Make-up allows the audience to engage in the illusion of character beyond dialogue and
transmit to expression.
A true art form, modern dramatic makeup looks range from makeup that is realistic looking, albeit
much heavier than standard cosmetic application, to highly unusual characterization, animal, period,
special effects, and avant garde makeup looks.(Finley, 2017)
