FIBER OPTIC

Optical fiber transmission line is made of glass or plastic

that is used to transmit light signals from one place to
another. The light in the fiber optic hard out due to
refractive index of glass larger than the refractive index of
air.
Commonly used in fiber optic telecommunication systems
as well as in lighting, sensors, imaging and optics. The
efficiency of optical fiber is determined by the constituent
material of the purity of the glass. The more pure the
material glass, the less light is absorbed by fibre optics.
In 1970, fiber with low-loss optical fiber
communications are developed and become practical
(fiber optic used cylindrical wire like in General,
consists of a fiber core (core) that is wrapped by the
skin (cladding) and both are covered by a protective
jacket (buffer coating). This happened just 100 years
after John Tyndall, a physicist from United Kingdom,
demonstrated to the Royal Society that the light can be
guided along the curve of water flow. Dipandunya light
by an optical fibre and by the flow of water is an event
of the same phenomenon, namely the total internal
reflection
An optical fiber consists of a core (core), cladding
(skin), coating (protective), streng thening fibers
and cable jacket (leather cable) as in Figure 2.1.
Basic elements of a fiber-optic cable is the cladding
and cores. The light transmitted propagate at the
core, where the pattern of rambatannya follow the
pattern of incoming light and then the light
reflected by the cladding along the channel.

Structur Cable Optik

The specifications of each section in Figure 2.1 are as
follows:
1. Core (core cable) serve to transmit the light from one end
to the other.
2. The cladding function as mirrors namely reflected light in
order to propagate to the other end.
3. Coating serves as a mechanical protector that protects the
optical fiber from damage and color coding as in optical
fiber.
4. Streng thening the fiber serves as a fiber that strengthens
the inside of the cable so it is not easy to break up and
made from similar cloth fibers yarn very much and have a
very good durability.
5. Jacket cable serves as protector of the entire section in the
fiber-optic cables and inside there are identifiers and are
made from PVC.

Optical fiber connecting phase

1. The first to do is peel the

skin gently fiber optic cable
2. Then clean the threads, aramid, water blocking, and
cleanse his body of jelly with a tissue that has been
soaked in alcohol.
3. The third step is the peeling layer
cladding
4. Cleaning the optical fiber with
alcohol
5. Cut with a fiber optic splicer
6. Running fiber optic splicer
7. Optical fiber splicing process
8. Optical fiber splicing process is completed
9. Arrange core on a tray core
