Introduction

Livestockare domesticated animals raised in

an agricultural setting
toproducecommodities such as food, fiber,
and labor. The term is often used to refer
solely to those raised for food, and sometimes
only farmed ruminants, such ascattleand
goats.
Broiler
Broiler chickens(Gallus
gallus domesticus),
orbroilers, are a
gallinaceous
domesticatedfowl, bred
and raised specifically
formeatproduction.
They are a hybrid of the
egg-layingchicken, both
being a subspecies of the
red junglefowl (Gallus
gallus).
Typicalbroilershave
white feathers and
yellowish skin.
New feeding systems
A new way of feeding farm
animals, which involves
weighing and blending all
foodstuff into a complete
ration, makes sure all an
animals' nutrient
requirements are met. Using
a 'total mixed ration' has
been found to reduce labour
costs, increase animal health
and give farmers greater
flexibility with feed
ingredients. All these factors
together improve farm
profitability by reducing feed
costs - which make up 60-
70% of total farm costs - and
maximise milk production.
AUTOMATIC MILKING
The cow voluntarily enters the
milking shed for milking and is
recognised by an electronic
transponder. The suction cups
are attached to the cows
udder by a robotic arm and are
removed after milking has
finished.
The Australian-designed
technology has huge potential
to reduce the amount of time
larger dairy farms spend on
milking, freeing up the farm
staff to concentrate on other
farm and business
management activities such as
monitoring the performance of
individual cows and the whole
farm system.
Animal Vaccination
Injection of a killed
microbe in order to
stimulate the immune
system against the
microbe, thereby
preventing disease. ...
The healthy immune
system is able to
recognize invading
bacteria and viruses
and produce substances
(antibodies) to destroy
or disable them

TMR Wagon
Fodders of different kinds,
concentrates and other
ingredients of feed are put
into the TMR wagon to
make balanced feed for
animals. This machine then
makes a sort of mixture of
all these ingredients. This
way the animals get all the
nutrients in their feed. As
all the ingredients are
mixed well in this feed, it
becomes easily digestible.
The animals eat it with
good appetite and their
production increases.
