TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT AT NTPC

SIGNIFICANCE
As a part of my curriculum I had to do one and half
months training in a well-reputed firm and for this I
had selected Power Management Institution (PMI)
NTPC Noida and got the topic TRAINING &
DEVELOPMENT for my project work. I had chosen
PMI NTPC only because it is the training apex of
NTPC.

The summer project, also made me realize the


worth of a well-designed training program me (and
training system) towards organizational excellence
OBJECTIVES OF THE

A study on increasing job satisfaction and
morals among employees.
A study on increasing efficiencies in
processes, resulting in financial gain.
A study on increasing capacity to adopt new
technologies and methods.
A study increasing innovation in strategies
and products.

Human beings tend to behave artificially , this happens
particularly when they are observed or interviewed.
This might have distorted the findings to some extent
Improvement of the employees work skills based upon
the training programmes
Evaluation process of training programme is complex
and have many levels.
Training plan has been formulated for ensuring
minimum seven man days training per employee per
year and includes level-wise planned intervention
designed to groom people for assuming positions of
higher responsibility
SUGGESTIONS
Ensure the need requires training and
development initiatives
Decide on Timely Training Interventions
choosing
Create an employee training-and-
development-ready environment an
appropriate Training provider.
Check the relevance of the initiatives to
the skill you want the employee to
develop
CONCLUSION
A structured Training and development
system should be introduced.
Some suitable and reliable person should be
given responsibilities for implementing the
programs.
Training and development programmes in
NTPC are relevant and effective in preparing
the employees for the job they do as well as
keeping them apprise with new technology in
this competitive era.
