Introduction
Employees welfare refers to the efforts which are
provided by the employer for the good life worth of its
employees
Organizations provide welfare facilities to their
employees to keep their motivation levels high enough
The concept of Employee welfare is elastic and flexible
and differs widely with regions, time, industries,
country, social values and customs, the degree of
industrialization, the general social economic
development of people and political ideologies
prevailing at particular moments

The employee welfare measure is one of the factors
penetrating in the life of employees those who are working in
industries
The purpose of providing welfare amenities is to bring about
development of the whole personality of the worker -his
social, psychological, economic, moral, cultural and
intellectual development
Employee welfare is a very broad term, covering social
security and such other activities as medical aid, crches,
canteens, recreation, housing, adult education, arrangements
for the transport of employee to and from the work place
Objective of the study

To study the relationship between the


employee satisfaction and social welfare
measures
Hypothesis
H0: Employees satisfaction and social welfare
measures are independent.
H1: Employees satisfaction and social welfare
measures are dependent
Methodology
The study is descriptive in nature
This study conducted at Plastic, textile and
engineering industries from Virudhunagar district
The industries are selected based on the revenue
and employment generation
Stratified Random Sampling was used
Totally 175 samples are selected

The study involves both primary and secondary data
Primary data was collected by administering a
structured questionnaire and personal interview method
Secondary data was collected through verifying
published documents and organizational publications
The datas are collected based on the working
conditions, recreational facilities, health & medical
facilities and safety
Chi-square test is used to analysis the data

Conclusion
Implementation of employees welfare measures is
much integrated and strategically involved
The most important task of employees welfare practices
is to provide fair wages, good working conditions and
realistic terms and conditions of employment
The outcome of the study reveals that the employees
welfare measures and employee satisfaction are
independent, so the industries need to do more on the
welfare activities
Suggestions

The organizations have to create an environment


that induces more awareness on the prevailing
employee welfare practices in their organizations
The organization has to give more importance on the
recreational facilities where the respondent shows
dissatisfaction in large numbers
