My front cover
includes issue
number/date
and price
For my front cover I followed codes and conventions, I done this by first of
all using a close up with direct mode of address similarly to the actual xxl
front cover. By using this main image It would attract people into reading
the magazine, but also stand out. But also the character within the image
is throwing gang signs, which further follows conventions of Hip Hop
genre. I also used codes and conventions when it came to the actual
layout of the front cover, by using a bold and in your face layout similar
to the xxl magazine front cover. The main cover line, but also secondary
cover lines also have the same layout as the xxl magazine. Another way
codes and conventions were followed was where artists names are listed
on the side of the image, this a key feature which would attract a lot of
readers as their favourite artist may be featured. However I dont feel I
went against any codes and conventions, on my front cover.

Codes and conventions were also followed for my contents page, once
again the main image shows direct mode of address. But also the use of
a large chain the character is wearing, uses codes and conventions
within the hip hop genre. Codes and conventions were also followed
through featuring my masthead on my contents page as well as my
front cover, this keeps the magazine looking professional.

My dps has
numbered
pages
The codes and conventions were followed for my dps, as starting with the
layout and colour I created a simple yet bold look. I used a large headline
which went across the whole page, and created impact. I also used a
headline on my main image, which created the same effect.
