Using Photoshop.

To remove the background of a photo I used the quick selection tool, and selected all of the
background by holding down the left click of the mouse and going over all of the
background.
To add a masthead to my image I used dafont to make the masthead, then I imported it
into Photoshop. I drew a box around the text I wanted then went to select at the top of
the page and selected similar and then deleted it. Then I made a small box on the white
area and clicked select at the top of the page and pressed similar to get rid of all of the
white background behind the text. Then I changed the colour and the stroke on the text.
To add over text to the front cover such as coverlines, websites and a puff, I used
the text tool and changed the colour, size and stroke, I also used the shape tool to
add a circle behind the puff. And the rectangle tool to add a strip at the bottom.
to change the background colour I used the rectangle tool and put a rectangle as the
background and changed the colour overlay to black, then I used the gradient tool to
add white parts to the black background so that its not a soid colour.
To import more photos onto the front cover I went to file, place and then selected the
photo I wanted to import.
To bring in another photo from photoshop, I dragged it to the top of the page onto the other
page. I did this twice and then I flipped the image horizontally and dragged this image in twice
and moved the layers around so the images on the end are at the back and the ones closer to
the middle and nearer the front.
Then I changed the opacity of each image, the ones at the back have the lowest opacity and
the ones at the front have the highest opacity.
Then I changed the colours of each image in the background. Then I
deleted the background.
