Bearing Dismounting
Using a puller
Dos & Donts
a) If bearing has been cleaned with petrol or diesel
then do not rotate the bearing without
applying lubricant. This may damage the raceway
and balls or rollers.
b) While cleaning the bearing with cotton cloth
always ensure that traces of cloth do not remain I n
the bearing. Hence avoid using cotton cloth, u se
tissue paper.
c) Bearings filled with rubber seal should never be
heated.
d) Bearings should be marked for their position while
removal so that while remounting, it is mounted
in same manner as before i.e. which side is u
uppermost is remounted uppermost.
