TKDL, thus, is a database, capable of retrieval of text and its
translation of ancient scripture into selected languages

However, this preparation of database is not enough for

practitioners. Even proper economic, research and development
exploitation are not possible with these static databases. A system
(TKDL S)
offering a number of web services related to practice and
exploitation of Traditional Knowledge is the need of the day. A
semantic web portal is required to cater such requirements.
The preparation of the TKDL for Santal medicine differs from its
earlier incarnation of TKDL of CSIR not only in terms of content
and context but also in the schemes of exploitation through the
web services.
