Good morning students!

I'm Miss Little and I

would like you to grab
your notebooks and sit
quietly!
Word of the day: Positive!

Today, Miss Little is here to help all of you become the best you can be in the
classroom!

What I ask is that we are:

-ACTIVELY LISTENING
-PARTICIPATING
-RESPECTING EACH OTHER
-DOING OUR WORK 100%
-HAVING FUN!

I want all of you do to do well, so please listen, follow along, and have fun! Show
me how awesome you are because I know you are!
MARS Skills

We see this all around the school.

But what does this mean for us?

Could it be we are JSAA Titans and

we are proud?! Lets talk about how
we can use this in all of our classes!
M is for MOTIVATED

I am on-time
I have a can-do attitude
I complete my work
Lets take a minute and talk with a partner
what you think these mean. I will ask for
a volunteer to model how to be motivated
after the minute is up, so be ready!
A is for ACCOUNTABLE

I ask questions if I need help

I bring a writing utensil
I follow directions without a reminder

Again,
you have one minute to talk with
a NEW partner, and then I will pick
someone to model how to be
accountable.
R is for RESPECTFUL

I use appropriate language

I use active listening
I use an appropriate voice level

Turnand talk with another NEW partner.

After a minute I will ask for a volunteer
to model how to be Respectful.
S is for SAFE

I walk to/from class on the right

I keep my hands, feet, and objects to myself
I act appropriately during safety drills

Turnand talk one more time with a new partner,

and then I will pick someone to model how to
be safe!
How do we make rules Miss Little?!

Teacher!

Whatdo you as students expect of your

teacher?
How do you see the teacher in the classroom?
What do you want from your teacher?

Let me write the rules for the teacher!

Now let's make some rules

Alright kids! It's time to make YOUR rules! We have

discussed it, we broke down MARS skills, now lets
make some rules for us to become the best students
we can be!
I will write the rules we come up with, and I want you
to copy down on your own sheet of paper. After we
are done you will place this in your science journal.
Put on your thinking caps!
