ATMA is a society of key stakeholders involved in
agricultural activities for sustainable agricultural
development in the district. It is a focal point for
integrating Research and Extension activities and
decentralising day to day management of the public
Agricultural Technology System (ATS). It is a
registered society responsible for technology
dissemination at the district level. As a society, it
would be able to receive and expend project funds,
entering into contracts and agreements and
maintaining revolving accounts that can be used to
collect fees and thereby recovering operating cost.

Rules and
regulations of ATMA

(1). Name of Society : The name of the Society will be "The


Agricultural Technology Management
Agency hereinafter called "ATMA"

(2).Location of the office: The registered office of the ATMA shall be


located at District Collectorate
/KrishiBhawan,Shimla.
(3).Interpretations
The following expression shall have the

following meaning unless inconsistent with


subject or context
Rules and regulations of ATMA
(a). The "Society" shall mean the Agricultural Technology
Management Agency (ATMA).
(b). "Governing Board" shall mean the body as constituted
under
these rules.
(c). The" Chairman " shall mean the Chairman of the Society
referred to in these regulations.
(d). The "Project Director shall mean the Project Director-
cum
Agricultural Technology Management
Agency (ATMA) / Governing Board:

Functions of Block Technology
Team(B.T.T.)

• Carry out periodic participatory rural appraisal


(PRA) to identify the problems
• Prepare an integrated strategic Extension
Technology Plan for the Block
• Prepare annual work plan and budget
provisions
• Coordinate the execution of these annual work
plans
• Maintain appropriate project accounts
• Extension of annual action plan and submission
of progress report

• To provide technological coordination
administration and supervision
• Approve the seasonal and annual work
• To decide the extension and developmental
priorities
• To approve the budget allocation amongst the
line departments

• To organise monthly workshops, training
programmes of extension officers (B.T.T.)
• To organise farmer fair at least once before each
main cropping season at R.H.R.S.
• To develop technical message on Agriculture and
allied sector
• To validate refine specific technologies of
agricultural and related sectors
• To analyze and field testing of indigenous
technology knowledge identified by the extension
officers.

• To develop appropriate technology for packing and


handling of perishable and durable produce.
• To generate success story on new technology in the
field of Agriculture and allied sector.

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK)

• To organise adaptive trials on farmers fields


• To orient and train the village level officers worker
from crop production to farming system approach.
• To organise vocational Training for post harvest
technologies especially for women farmers.
• To organise farmers fair at Block level
• To facilitate the B.T.T. /F.A.C. preparation of
annual work plans
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK)
• To conduct diagnostic survey along with
B.T.T./FAC to advise the farmer on the spot.
• To give the advisory services on diversification and
intensification of farming system.
• To conduct the survey for diffusion of new
technologies (adaptive trials) continuously in
following years until the new technology has
become a success stories.
Fund Flow Mechanism
• Fund will be released directly by the Govt. of India to
ATMA, SAMETI and NATP CELL.
• In turn ATMA will released the fund to district heads of line
departments; B.T.T / F.A.C heads of K.V.K. and Z.R.S.
• Head of K.V.K. and Z.R.S. and B.T.T. will released the
finds to the concerned scientists and member of B.T.T.
• Separate account will be opened in a Nationalized Bank
by, all funds receiving authorities .
• Every fund receiving authority will be held responsible
personally for the proper maintenance of Account ,Records
report as per NATP procedure.
