TRAGEDY

A tragedy is not going to end with the words and they all lived happily even
after. Shakespearean tragedies are dramas that en in disastermost often
deathfor the main characters.

Figurative language: language that communicates beyond the literal meaning


of words.
Dramatic Irony: when the audience know more than the characters.
Soliloquy: A long speech given by a character alone on stage.

The narrator tells the audience that two families in Verona have been
fighting each other.
The story begins with Romeo talking to himself. Then he sees a light
through Juliets window. He describes the beauty of Juliet. They both start
to talk often with each other.
Romeo hears Juliet talking about him to herself. She seems upset that he
is Montague, a member of an enemy family.
Romeo speaks to Juliet. He says he will change his name if she will love
him. Juliet recognizes Romeos voice, but she fears his family knows
about Romeos presence in their house.
They both start to asking themselves about their relationship.
Romeo leaves the house and they agree to see each other another day.
VOCABULARY
The word motivate is a verb that means to cause someone to take actions.
The word resolve is a verb that means to decide or to figurate out, solve, or make clear.
